Brittany Hockley has opened up about the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here campmate who came across as “very rude”.

She made the frank admission on her Life Uncut podcast this week, telling co-host Laura Byrne that former Studio 10 co-host Denise Drysdale had proven challenging to get along with.

“It wasn’t just [fellow IAC campmate] Khanh Ong [clashing] with Denise, it was everyone and Denise. Denise was really hard - really, really hard. Just very short, very blunt,” Hockley said.

“Often very rude, she didn’t want to be there... I would hope she didn’t realise she was being rude, but then I’m like, surely she had to know?”

However, she admitted that Drysdale’s age may have been a factor in their friction.

“But she’s 75 and that was a really hard environment for anyone, let alone at that age... I was looking at half the challenges people were doing every day, Denise never could have done them. That’s not against Denise, that’s literally a physicality thing.”

Drysdale became the first shock elimination of the 2024 series after arriving late in the jungle.

There were gasps among campmates when Robert Irwin announced the star’s name, but she appeared relieved to be returning to civilisation.

“Oh, it was more than what I expected,” confessed Drysdale when she sat down with Irwin and Julia Morris.

When asked if she felt “bittersweet” about being the first celebrity out of the jungle, she admitted: “Can I say not so bitter?! It’s sweet! I’m sorry, I have to be – I have to be completely honest!”

“It is s**t in there!” she continued. “It is s**t, it’s unbelievable! The dunnies, the dirt! Now I’m a clean person – there’s dirt upon dirt upon dirt upon dirt.”

Drysdale added: “But I’m so glad that I’ve done it. I’ve done it and I’m proud of myself. So I must say thank you to the Celebrity people for giving me the opportunity to prove to myself I can go in there and do it.”

In the nailbiting finale just over a week ago, Skye Wheatley was crowned as winner.

After an “incredibly close” vote, the Gold Coast influencer beat runner-up Tristan MacManus and third place contestant Callum Hole to take home $100,000 in prize money for the charity of her choice, Bully Zero.

“I’m shocked,” Wheatley said.

“I feel absolutely blessed to have had this opportunity, and to go through the things I went through with these boys [MacManus and Hole].”

In its 10th season, this year’s I’m A Celeb saw the return of veteran host Morris alongside newcomer Irwin, who replaced Dr Chris Brown.
