OUTRAGED My Kitchen Rules fans have turned the heat up on Channel 7, accusing producers of staging a grand final showdown between rivals Chloe and Kelly and the twins.

The Twittersphere went into meltdown following last night’s elimination of popular surfing dads Paul and Blair who lost by one point to Western Australia friends Chloe James and Kelly Ramsay - dubbed the show’s villains.

The win meant the girls were put straight through to the grand final with the winner of tonight’s sudden death cook-off competing against South Australia mums Bree May and Jessica Liebich and Victorian twins Helena and Vikki Moursellas.

If the twins win, and they are up against their bitter rivals, it will be a sure ratings bonanza for Channel 7.

Some viewers were so outraged at the result they have even threatened to boycott tomorrow’s highly-anticipated grand final, which they say has been skewed in favour of the all-girl cook off.

Even show judge Pete Evans came in for some criticism scoring the dads a 7/10 despite saying they had a perfect entree and dessert.

The rivalry between the well-travelled WA friends and the twins has been highlighted from the first instant with the girls seemingly taking a dislike to each other.

Subsequent shows have been full of digs and gripes at each other, creating the impression they don’t like each other at all.

However, pictures emerged last week of this foursome happily buddied up outside of filming hours.

The two teams dined together at Manu Feildel’s Melbourne restaurant Le Grand Cirque and were seen laughing and hugging on their night out together.

Pictures of the four enjoying a night out were also posted to social media but later removed.

Speaking to news.com.au ahead of tomorrow’s show result, Chloe said two different endings were filmed for the grand final and she didn’t know who had won.

“We get to find out with the rest of the Australia,” she said.

“We’re having an event in Perth at a local restaurant called The Peasant’s Table, around the corner from where we live with our friends.”

It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened on the show.

Two different endings were filmed when Sunshine Coast siblings Jake and Elle Harrison went up against Hervey Bay couple Dan and Steph Mulheron in last year’s MKR grand final.

And Chloe maintains the rivalry with the twins has been blown completely out of proportion.

“What you haven’t seen is the relationship develop and the rivalry develop,” she said.

“We do a lot of work with the twins, a lot of promotions and publicity. If it was horrible between us then we wouldn’t be enjoying ourselves. We’re all grown-ups.”

She added every show had to have its villains and sweethearts to tell a story.

“It is important to have characters. You need your villains and sweethearts. They need to be able to tell a story and there were so many stories. That’s why I loved the show and that’s why it was so successful.”

Soon-to-married Chloe also said she and her team mate weren’t that bothered who got through to the finals.

“I think we had two trains of thought — if the twins got through we could beat them easily, in terms of the degustation and the stress that goes along with it,” she said.

“And it would’ve been great for the viewers.

“In terms of the competition, Bree and Jess would’ve deserved a final spot more and it would be a true reflection of cooking skills.”

News_Image_File: Chloe and Kelly, with show judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans, said going on the show has all been worth it.

She also said they had both made some incredible friends along the way.

“Annie and Jason are in Perth for the final. And Thalia and Bianca who helped us focus throughout the competition and we wouldn’t be here without them,” she said.

“They’re also coming to my wedding in New York.”

But when it came to the way they were portrayed Chloe said a lot of what they said was made in jest and they were taking the mickey out of themselves.

“I don’t know if it’s editing, but people are starting to understand us. Although there will always be haters,” she said.

Both girls say they wouldn’t changed anything and have big plans for the future.

“Kelly is training to be an apprentice chef. Depending on the results, we would love to open a cafe,” Chloe said.

“We wanted to change our lives and we want a career in food.”
