My Kitchen Rules couple Carly and Tresne were targeted by cyber bullies on the weekend

MY Kitchen Rules contestants Carly and Tresne were targeted online by “Christian lobby groups” on the weekend after revealing they are a couple.

MY Kitchen Rules’ Carly and Tresne have revealed they’ve been targeted online by “Christian lobby groups” since they revealed they’re a married couple.

The duo was originally presented on the cooking show as long-time friends but they revealed the true nature of their relationship in New Idea magazine last week, saying, “We wanted to go on the show as ourselves and have people judge us on our cooking and not our sexual preference”.

Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O on Kiis FM this morning, the girls admitted that they are rattled after copping some criticism online about their sexual preference on the weekend.

“It’s just an online hate thing,” Carly, 32, said.

“We try not to get involved in that but it’s kind of hard when you’ve got Christian lobby groups … it’s hard because we are Christians and our church actually accepts us for who we are.

“We’re trying to be really positive about it because we’re positive girls but it hasn’t been that easy.”

After news of Carly and Tresne’s romantic relationship broke last week, the initial reaction from fans was mostly positive, with viewers left wondering why the couple chose to hide the truth from the outset.

My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 tonight at 7.30pm. Carly and Tresne will be cooking for their lives against mums Bree and Jessica in a sudden death showdown.
