Big Little Lies season 2: Nicole Kidman opens up on daughters’ cameo

It already boasts an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, but Big Little Lies will also feature two other familiar faces fans won’t expect to see.

Nicole Kidman has opened up about her daughters’ cameos in Big Little Lies season two, revealing the girls were somewhat unimpressed with their small roles.

Network 10’s Angela Bishop revealed in a Big Little Lies cast interview that she had spotted the names of Kidman’s daughters, 10-year-old Sunday Rose and eight-year-old Faith Margaret, in the show’s credits.

“Are they?” Kidman joked in the interview, which aired on Thursday’s episode of The Project. “They shouldn’t be in the credits!”

The Australian actress recalled how the girls, who played schoolgirls on the show, managed to be on Big Little Lies set for a special celebration.

“I just wanted them to be at work with me,” the actress quipped. “They were there the day Reese got the ice cream truck for my birthday so they were thrilled … they did get their faces in the classroom (scene) actually, which they are like, ‘eh, I wish I had a bigger role.’”

Kidman’s co-stars heaped praise on her daughters, with Reese Witherspoon saying the girls were “so cute” on the Big Little Lies set.

“I was very moved just because I remember being the exact same age on set, being an extra in a movie with my mum,” Laura Dern added. “It was really touching to me.”

Season two of Big Little Lies will pick up after the abusive husband of Celeste was killed by the Monterey women in the epic season one finale.

Big Little Lies was the breakout series of 2017, receiving 16 Emmy Award nominations and winning eight.

The core cast are all returning including Kidman, Witherspoon, Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz.

A big name addition for season two is Oscar winner Meryl Streep, who plays Perry’s mother Mary Louise Wright.

Big Little Lies season 2 premieres on Fox Showcase on June 10 at 11am
