Tis the damn season.
Taylor Swift is plotting a massive stadium tour for the summer of 2023, multiple sources tell Page Six exclusively.
“Taylor has some really ambitious plans in place,” one insider teases. “She’s excited to get back on the road after such a long but fruitful break.”
A second source shares that several shows have already been booked.
Swift’s rep did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
The US singer, 32, was due to go on tour in 2020 in support of her seventh studio album, Lover, but she was forced to cancel the dates once Covid-19 swept the world.
“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future,” she tweeted at the time.
Swift last toured the world in 2018 to promote her sixth album, Reputation. It was the highest-grossing tour of all time, and the Texas stop was filmed for a concert special that premiered on Netflix later that year.
The global tour netted the star a reported $US345 million.
While the Grammy winner has not performed for her legions of fans in years, she certainly kept busy in quarantine.
She released two new albums in 2020, Folklore and Evermore, and re-recorded two of her previous records in 2021, Fearless and Red, after losing ownership of her back catalogue in a highly publicised dispute with her former record label in 2019.
And Swift has yet another album on the way, announcing at last month’s 2022 MTV Video Music Awards that Midnights will be out October 21.
So, it’s safe to say Swift has plenty of new material for the stadium tour.
She has described the upcoming Midnights, her 10th album overall, as “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.”
