Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas appear to have made a temporary truce amid their bitter custody battle after the couple agreed to keep their children in New York, for now.

Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail show that the estranged couple have agreed to an interim consent order that bans both parties from removing the children from the state.

Days earlier, Turner, 27, had demanded Jonas, 34, return their two young daughters to England.

The court agreement, filed on Monday, states that their daughter Willa, who is three, and her one-year-old sister, must remain in the New York area including New York City, the Hudson Valley and Long Island.

Turner and Jonas “have agreed to the entry of the attached proposed Interim Consent Order, without prejudice to either party’s claims and defenses, prohibiting the removal of the parties’ children from the jurisdictions,” according to the filing.

The court order was filed by Turner’s lawyer Stephen Cullen to “prevent the (children’s) further removal or concealment before the final disposition of the petition” and “protect the well-being of the (children) involved”.

JONAS ‘CHOKES UP’ DURING CONCERT

Singer Joe Jonas “choked up” during his first concert since being sued by his estranged wife Sophie Turner as they battle over custody of their two children.

It comes after Jonas unleashed on the legal suit filed by Turner as “a serious abuse of the justice system” after she claimed she was denied their children’s passports to leave the United States.

“The children were not abducted,” a representative for Jonas said in a statement.”

A suit filed in Manhattan federal court alleged Jonas wouldn’t let their two children leave for the United Kingdom when Turner arrived to pick them up Willa, 3, and DJ, 1, on September 17.

In a lengthy statement disputing the claim, Jonas said that Turner was aware of the divorce filing and court order restricting the relocation of their children, despite her claims she learned about the separation in the media.

“Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago,” the Jonas statement said.

“Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York, when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting.

“Joe’s impression of the meeting was the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.”

Less than 24 hours later, Turner said she wanted to have the children live in the UK permanently and filed a legal suit demanding their passports be handed over so they could leave immediately.

“If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order,” the Jonas statement continued.

“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.

“Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the US permanently.”

In his first concert since being sued, Jonas dedicated his song “Little Bird” to all the mums and dads in the Pennsylvania audience, where he was performing with brothers Kevin and Nick Jonas.

“This next one is all about being a parent,” he said, according to The New York Post. “Good luck,” he added, as audience members claimed online he choked up at the song’s dedication.

As Jonas was performing at the Wells Fargo Center, Turner was having her second New York dinner with Jonas’ ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Turner remains in New York as she attempts to win custody of their children to live in their “forever home” in England.

Jonas, meanwhile, said he’s seeking a shared parenting arrangement so they can be raised by both their mother and father for the well-being of the children, and is “of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK”.

“The children were born in the US and have spent the vast majority of their lives in the US. They are American citizens,” the Jonas statement said.

SOPHIE TURNER SUES JOE JONAS

Actress Sophie Turner accused estranged pop star husband Joe Jonas of refusing to let their two young daughters return to her native England, according to a bombshell lawsuit filed in New York.

The Game of Thrones star has claimed that Jonas is keeping hold of their kids’ passports — despite previously agreeing that the girls would live in Britain before their split, the suit filed in Manhattan federal court alleges.

Turner and Jonas allegedly had an agreement that she would come to New York and collect their daughters after she wrapped filming a project in the UK, the filing says.

But when the actress arrived on September 17, Jonas allegedly wouldn’t let the kids leave.

“The Father has prevented the children’s return to England, which is a breach of the Mother’s rights of custody under English law, England being the children’s habitual residence,” the suit says.

The legal action comes just weeks after Jonas filed for divorce on September 5.

The couple had been married for four years, and share daughters three-year-old Willa and one-year-old D.J.

In the lawsuit, Turner alleges that Jonas won’t return their children’s passports.

“On or about September 17, 2023, the parties met to discuss their separation,” the suit reads.

“The Mother reiterated the parties’ agreed plan for the children to return home to England that week. The Father has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother.

“The next day, the Mother’s solicitor in England reconfirmed to the Father’s Florida [lawyer] that the Mother intended to return home to England with the children as planned on September 20, 2023, and requested that the children’s passports be returned to the Mother.

“Based on the Father’s express statements that he will not return the children to England and will not return the children’s passports to the Mother, on September 20, 2023, the Mother has submitted her Hague Convention Application for Return to the Central Authority for England & Wales seeking the return of the children to England.”

Turner has also alleged that the former couple had planned for her and the couple’s daughters to join Jonas and his family on his band’s US tour before returning to the UK where they would live in a rental property.

She claimed they would move into a new home in the UK after its expected December completion date.

According to the filing, the couple had wanted to raise their children in Turner’s native England, which they determined was a “safe location”.

While spending Christmas in the UK last year, the couple had stayed at a rental property near Turner’s parents’ house in Warwickshire.

During this time, Turner claimed she and Jonas had “jointly decided that they would look for their ‘forever home’ in England, select a school for their older daughter in England, and settle their family in England”.

“The parties agreed that the timing was right for the family to settle permanently in England, particularly given the older child’s age. The parties were both excited for the family’s move to England,” the documents read.

The search for their new “forever home” was said to have lasted from December until July this year as the couple “physically toured family homes … together”.

The actress also disputed Jonas’s claim in his divorce filing that the couple’s daughters had lived in Florida for six months before announcing their split.

“In furtherance of the parties’ shared plan, the children travelled to the United States with the Father and their nanny,” the documents read.

“Thereafter, the breakdown of the parties’ marriage happened very suddenly. The parties had an argument on August 15, 2023. On or about September 1, 2023, the Father filed a divorce case against the Mother in Florida. On or about September 5, 2023, the Mother found out through the media that the Father had filed for divorce.

“In his divorce filing in Florida, the Father seeks, inter alia, divorce, a parenting plan, and a time-sharing schedule to be ordered by the Florida state court. The Father incorrectly claims in his divorce filings that the children have resided in Florida for the six months prior to the filing of the Father’s Florida case.”

The petition goes on to say that Turner was also initiating legal proceedings in the UK.

“The children were to be returned home to England on September 20, 2023. The Father has prevented the children’s return to England, which is a breach of the Mother’s rights of custody under English law, England being the children’s habitual residence,” it reads.

Following news of their divorce, reports emerged that she ‘likes to party and he likes to stay at home.’

Various sources who claim to have “direct knowledge” of the situation have briefed US sites including TMZ that Jonas was watching his children full-time while on tour – while Turner filmed her new series Joan in the UK.

It was also reported by TMZ that Jonas is said to have known his marriage was over when Turner was allegedly caught ‘saying and/or doing something’ on their Ring security camera.

But Jonas has been accused of a smear campaign against the actress, painting her as a “less than gold-star parent”.

Meanwhile, Turner’s camp has stayed silent, taking her grievances to the courts instead.
