Style: Some folks just innately have it, without even knowing it, and some have the knack for making it seem effortless.

And, among those individuals, there are ones whose style is inimitable and others who you can copy – imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all that.

Here’s out latest list of South Australia’s most stylish people and where you can follow them:

MARY HAMILTON

We take our top hat off to this lady because no one wears one – or a black suit – better than the Hugh Hamilton Wines chief executive and sixth-generation winemaker of Australia’s oldest wine family. That’s a lot of wine, we know, but case in point: Cheers to her elegant swellegant outfit at the recent Pure Black Winter Ball. If we could bottle her sophisticated style we would … but we will just have to drink it in here

DAVIE FOGARTY

Can this guy sell ice to Eskimos, or what? Probably, because he’s turned over $450m in sales of oversized wearable blankets in just four years. Designed to be worn by couch potatoes, The Oddie isn’t exactly smokin' in the style department. But its founder is. Davie is not only a sharp dresser in his role as a judge on Shark Tank Australia, but, as one of Adelaide’s PR gurus tells us, he “wears a man cardigan proudly”. Follow Davie here

DR GERTRUDE GLOSSIP

This trailblazer – who hosts the Feast Festival’s history walk – has quite the wardrobe. It’s stylish and sustainable. Gertrude is famous for shopping at “Opportunity Emporia”, including Cathedral Fashions, at North Adelaide, before it closed.

She can also boast being dressed by the one and only J-Lo. No, not Ms Lopez, we are talking about the real deal, Adelaide Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith, who generously donates garments to Gertrude. Rosemary Michell is also happy to help, giving hats; while Gertrude’s creator, the also very stylish Will Sergeant – who was recently made a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to the LGBTIQ+ community – also calls on his sisters Susie and Anni whenever they are doing a fashion closet cull. Look out for Gertrude and Will around Adelaide.

JACQUI LIM

Her passions might be food and music, but this girl about town also knows a thing or two about style. Actually, 18 things about style, when it comes to her signature look – colourful leather jackets (yes, she has that many). The co-owner of Soi 38, who is also a professional singer/pianist gigging around town, loves shopping at Australian brand Cue and gets her cut and colour done at Suave Hair. Follow Jacqui on foodie and music Insta accounts.

ALLY AOUKAR AND RAY DAHDAH

This power couple, of Adelaide’s Out in the Paddock events company and now Soho Supper Club fame, are switched on when it comes to style. Ali was the belle of the Pure Black Winter Ball in a made-in-SA custom creation by couture+love+madness while Ray rocked a bold bow tie. The dynamic duo are also starring in a new campaign for Burnside Village. Follow Ally and Ray on Instagram.

HAYLEY BERLINGERI

This mum of four reckons she’s “fumbling” through the days, according to her profile on talent agency The Right Fit’s website, but whenever we bump into her at VIP events she is pulled together and some. That said, while she looks like an angel, Hayley is known and loved for her down-to-earth posts on her Insta account; where she shares her parenting hacks (and dilemmas) and promotes local dress hire businesses including Plus One, Chique Designer and My Dress Theory and the rent-a-handbag biz Adorn Collection.

DAISY BUCKLAND

This 24-year-old beauty has a blossoming career in public relations at Sassafras PR and bucketloads of style thanks to her sunny disposition and love of luxe labels including SA sustainable brand Sunset Lover founded by Melanie Flintoft. She’s also perfected the art of striking that on-trend nonchalant pose on Insta. Follow Daisy here

LILY CLAIRE DOWNING

Signed with Adelaide agency The Models, this elfin beauty had Rapunzel-esque when we first met her back in the day. Ethereal, yet edgy, she’s not afraid to take fashion risks. In fact, Lily’s a style chameleon. Lopping off her long locks long ago, she’s had a chic Louise Brooks bob, been a Marilyn Monroe blonde bombshell and is now sporting the perfect pixie … and also looks stunning with or without make-up. RICHARD DAVIES

This guy is not to be confused with the Aussie actor of the same name who played Jimmy – the younger brother of Asher Keddie’s character Dr Nina Proudman – on Network Ten’s Offspring. This Richard Davies is a much snappier dresser. He’s dapper and handsome. Where can you follow him? The answer is as simple as ABC, because Richard often presents Aunty’s weekend TV news bulletin; that said, now the local Sunday service is going to be axed, down the track you may only get to see him when he’s rostered on a Saturday night (going out early in the evening is overrated anyway) and when he fills in for weekday host Jessica Harmsen.
