Former convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has appeared in a bizarre video giving self care tips and admitting she “likes beer a lot”.

In a video sent via personalised message service memmo.me, the Queensland based clock maker appeared in good spirits as she discussed everything from reading, movies, her dog, friends, her birthday and self care. People were lapping it up, even dubbing her the Aussie version of Britney Spears.

“You take care of yourself, don’t drink too much,’’ she says in the video posted by Aussie influencer Winnie Blues.

“That’s my problem, I like beer, I drink a lot of beer.

“I have my second week off beer. I like beer a lot. So I have begun to have like two or three weeks off and then I’ll drink again and then I like to give myself breaks.”

“I’m on a break at the moment so had a birthday (at the weekend) with no alcohol probably because I was sick actually.

“And exercise, go for a walk every day. Don’t stop moving your body.

“Be kind to yourself, you’re your own best friend, you live in your head 24/7 so make it a nice place. Never be negative towards yourself. Be honest and caring and uplifting.”

In the four minute video bought by Winnie Blues who was feeling down, Corby is seen holding her dog Lulu who she said is her best friend.

Half way through music started playing which she called her ‘palm tree song’.

“I do have girlfriends, I have friends, but she’s always by my side,’’ she said of Lulu, real name Lucille.

“I had been sick the past week with a stomach bug and she stayed by my side all day. I just had my birthday two days ago.

“What do you do for self care? I like to read books, I find when I watch Netflix and movies I get disappointed. Why is this even a movie? Why are these people so famous and rich? This movie is s---.

“I like to read books so you envision your own creation.

“At the moment I’m reading Redeeming Love which is a beautiful book, it’s a Christian book, it’s not like the written Bible which I have read maybe four times front to back. Recommend.

“(Wednesday) is the decider of the State of Origin which I’m going to be watching. I go for Queensland obviously cause I live in Queensland.”

Corby was arrested in 2004, then convicted of smuggling cannabis into Indonesia and she spent nine years imprisoned on the Indonesian island of Bali in Kerobokan Prison.

The 45 year-old, who has had stints on SAS Australia and Dancing With The Stars, recently revealed her new career path as a clock maker, selling handmade epoxy resin pieces for $199 each.

Winnie Blues said the video did not disappoint. Some followers left enthusiastic comments such as “pure magic”, “If Schapelle is happy I am happy” and “the video I never knew I needed”.
