SAS Australia cheating scandal: Koby Abberton upsets fellow contestants

Bra Boy Koby Abberton allegedly did less press ups than the rest of his castmates on SAS Australia, leading to him being branded a cheat.

Koby Abberton has quickly gotten off side with fellow contestants on SAS Australia.

The notorious Bra Boy was busted cheating in last night’s episode. And while it wasn’t a big scandal, Confidential hears there is much more to unravel for the 43-year-old, who has started out as the villain and jokester of the season.

Last night he was caught cheating in a combat task where contestants had to sprint between exercise stations that included flipping a 55kg truck tyre, lifting sandbags, doing burpees and log squats.

Surveillance cameras showed Abberton cut corners by doing 15 press ups instead of 30. While seemingly a physical test, the challenge was an integrity one to determine whether or not someone would cheat.

“That is not a miscount, that is an integrity thing,” SAS Instructor Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox said, colleague Ant Middleton adding: “Winners don’t cut corners. There are no shortcuts on the battlefield.”

Caught “red handed”, Abberton said: “I might have done more (press ups).”

Later, to his fellow contestants, he added: “He was looking at me but I really don’t think I missed anything. I think he should just tells us (who cheated). It is embarrassing just getting told you are a cheat. I don’t like that.”

Abberton was then called to a meeting with the instructors, where he was confronted over his actions and still maintained he didn’t cheat.

“I just wouldn’t have cheated,” he told Middleton before being forced to fess-up to the other contestants. “If the evidence is there, I will take full responsibility.”

He was then asked about his integrity.

“People are always asking me if I am up to no good or treating me like I am up to no good,” he said. “I was raised with a drug addict mother so it was obviously passed on to me … passed on to me as if I was the bad guy. I was raised in a harsh environment and sometimes I was a prick but no, I didn’t deserve it.”

Fourteen recruits remain in the competition going into Monday’s episode after celebrity chef Manu Feildel and former politician Emma Husar quit the course last night.
