Peter Combe will belt out hit after hit when he takes to the stage to perform the first family-friendly show at Her Majesty’s Theatre since it underwent a $66m renovation.
The legendary children’s entertainer will perform his Peter Combe Greatest Hits Show at the Grote St theatre in December, accompanied by the Bellyflop in a Pizza band and the Fabulous Combettes – a group of six local children on backing vocals.
“It is the concert that people have been asking me to do for years and years,” Combe says. “When I do a show, people say, ‘Why didn’t you sing Toffee Apple, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Chopsticks’, and in this concert, I will be doing all those songs.”
After seven months of missing performing “enormously”, the ARIA award winner says he has 25 school concerts booked in between now and the end of the year.
He says the performance at Her Majesty’s, to be held on December 12, will be a “big celebration” of his achievements over the past 35 years. Peter Combe Greatest Hits Show will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 2pm.
