Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey is heading back Down Under for the first time in ten years – and she’s included Adelaide on her itinerary.

The global icon and US talk show queen will return to Australia in December for an arena speaking tour, with stops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Oprah In Conversation: Presented by Lilly, will feature Winfrey, 71, reflecting on her remarkable life, and is designed to “resonate with anyone seeking purpose, inspiration, or a spark to reimagine their own path”.

Last in Australia in 2015 for a similar run of speaking engagements, Winfrey – who’s worth up to $4 billion – said she can’t wait to return.

“One of the things I have always enjoyed is sitting down for real, honest, enlightening conversations, and this experience is all about that,” she said.

“The energy, warmth, and spirit I feel in Australia and New Zealand have stayed with me, and returning will be an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and be reinspired – together.”

The tour will kick off in Sydney on December 4 before coming to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday, December 6. There’s further stops in Brisbane on December 8 and Melbourne on December 11, and she will also appear in Auckland on December 14.

“I look forward to sharing stories, ideas, and meaningful connection about what’s possible in our lives moving forward,” she said.

On her previous visit to Adelaide in December, 2015, Winfrey told 9000 fans at the Entertainment Centre that she felt right at home.

“It’s worth the trip across the planet to get here,” she said on stage.

“What a beautiful place you have here … It’s Radelaide.”

One of the world’s most recognisable women and the first black billionaire in the US, Winfrey’s eponymous talk show ran for 25 years until 2011.

On her first tour of Australia in 2010, she brought 300 American fans to our shores and sparked an international tourism frenzy.

The showbiz extravaganza screened over four episodes to 70 million US viewers, and is credited with bringing more than $20 million worth of travel bookings through the widely documented “Oprah effect”.

Winfrey now oversees Harpo Productions, is chairman and chief executive of her network OWN, is the founder of O, The Oprah Magazine and digital site OprahDaily.com. She also hosts The Oprah Podcast on her YouTube Channel.
