Adelaide listeners will hear more of Nova breakfast trio Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson as they go national with a new “Late Drive” radio show.
Host of Nova Melbourne’s early morning program, the popular Adelaide threesome will soon move to a new 6-8pm weekday show, which will be heard across Australia.
Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips will take over their breakfast timeslot in Melbourne.
Adelaide audiences previously heard just one hour of the Ben, Liam and Belle breakfast show from 5-6am.
Harvey said the team was “super excited” for the next step in their radio journey.
“During our time at Nova, we’ve always aimed to entertain as well as support our listeners and community, so to be hosting a national show together is a dream,” he said.
“We’re pumped that we’ll be able to connect with even more listeners around the country.”
Stapleton said he was thrilled with the new gig and in particular, the new timeslot.
“I’m even more excited to be ditching those 4am alarms that have been on for the last decade,” he said.
Harvey and Stapleton made their name on Triple J’s national breakfast show, before joining Nova Adelaide in the same timeslot in 2020.
The top-rating duo added longtime producer Belle Jackson as they moved to Melbourne, to replace outgoing trio Chrissie Swan, Jonathan Brown and Sam Pang in the high-profile early morning time slot at the start of last year.
When they joined Adelaide’s Nova 91.9 in 2020 – Harvey aged 26 and Stapleton 23 – they were the youngest breakfast hosts on commercial radio across the five metropolitan cities.
It’s been a big few months for Stapleton, who wed fiancee Sarah Crisanti in an intimate Adelaide Hills ceremony just before Christmas.
The couple said ‘I Do’ at Mount Barker’s Mandalay House & Garden, two years after the couple announced their engagement.
The pair was forced to move their ceremony indoors after heavy rains washed out the stunning Hills venue, but lavish blooms and stylish touches from bespoke wedding curators Hygge Studio made “Plan B” seem like ‘Plan A’ all along.
Stapleton’s co-presenter Harvey also welcomed his first child Freddie James Harvey in August.
