Nicole Kidman has been spotted in Sydney’s south filming her new show with fellow Aussie Simon Baker.

The show must go on and again Nicole Kidman is on the frontline helping keep the Australian film and television business going.

Just as she did through last year’s lockdown, shooting US series Nine Perfect Strangers in Byron Bay, Kidman has again brought a production to her home state.

The Academy Award winning actor was snapped filming TV series, Roar, in Cronulla alongside Judy Davis and Simon Baker.

Roar is a multi-episode series of stand-alone stories with the rest of the episodes shot in the US starring the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Alison Brie and Merritt Wever.

Australia became a global hub of production as most of the film business internationally shut down through Covid lockdowns over the past 18 months.

Productions continued through difficult times by implementing strict safety measures including daily Covid tests, mask wearing and cast and crew being vaccinated.

With the rest of the world reopening and Australia lagging behind in its vaccination rollout, the challenge now is maintaining interest in shooting here.

“It was always going to be a question as to whether we could hang onto the advantages we had last year and now that the rest of the world is opening up ahead of us, it only re-enforces the need for the Government to ensure our industry is able to operate with stability and certainty and autonomy given that it is the basis for entertaining and employing so many Australians,” Screen Producers Australia chief executive Matthew Deaner told The Daily Telegraph.

“Getting our population vaccinated quickly now is a crucial part of the mix to help ensure we don’t lose the opportunity to sustain some of the opportunities we have had.”
