Opinions are divided over what was said in the first half of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series, but viewers would surely agree on one point: The couple’s vast California home is stunning.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who began filming parts featured in the long-awaited doco back in 2020, invited Netflix camera crews into their Montecito mansion for many of the scenes, giving viewers a never-before-seen glimpse at how the royal couple live.
From arched windows to beautifully landscaped gardens, every corner of their $20 million Santa Barbara property oozes luxury.

Harry and Meghan moved into the nine bedroom, 16 bathroom mansion which boasts a pool, theatre, arcade and guesthouse in Montecito, California, back in July 2020.
Despite the hefty price tag, it looks as though the couple got themselves a bargain as the estate has previously been listed for a whopping $36.5 million, according to The Sun.
A source close to Meghan and Harry said the couple were calling the luxury mansion their “sanctuary”.
Previous pictures of the interior found in old real estate listings show the gym had a “stripper pole” at one time – and one of the bedrooms has a children’s bedroom shaped like a pink princess castle.
The property, which was bought in June, is located in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, Santa Barbara – about an hour north of Los Angeles – and is also home to stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Drew Barrymore.
Located inside a secure gated community, the mansion has a giant swimming pool, sauna, wine cellar and a five-car garage. It also has a two bedroom guesthouse.
Outside there is a tennis court, large manicured lawns, rose gardens, a tea house and a pond.
In London, the pair lived in Frogmore Cottage, which was also featured in Harry & Meghan.
When they were first married, the couple lived in the historic property in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which they renovated in a move funded by the British taxpayers for $4.2 million.
The couple later repaid the cost of the renovation after they quit royal duties.
The royal family is said to be in “a state of sadness” after Harry and Meghan launched a wave of fresh attacks in their new Netflix series, including claims Harry approached the royal family to tell them he believed Meghan was being treated differently from other women in the family due to her background, but was ignored.
Prince William is also understood to feel “betrayed” by Meghan’s account of their first meeting, The Sun reports.
In episode two, Meghan said of meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales: “I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger – I didn’t realise that was jarring for a lot of Brits,” Meghan told the filmmakers, before suggesting the pair didn’t exactly exude warmth.
“I guess I started to understand that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside, that there is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door the door and you go, ‘Whew, great, OK, we can relax now’ – but that formality carries over on both sides.
“And that was surprising to me.”
