Neil Patrick Harris rates Ellen’s Oscars performance — and it ain’t all positive
NEIL Patrick Harris has given his opinion on Ellen’s Oscars hosting gig — and it ain’t all positive. Guess which part he didn’t like?
SERIAL award show host Neil Patrick Harris has offered up his opinion of Ellen’s performance as host of yesterday’s Academy Awards — and it wasn’t all positive.
Harris attended the Vanity Fair Oscars bash with his partner David Burtka, and was asked by a reporter how he rated DeGeneres as a host. His response?
“I thought Ellen was great. I was watching the show, anticipating some big opening number, and then she just walked out and told some jokes, and brought everyone down in a casual way. It was lovely.”
That seems like something of a backhanded compliment for us, given that the purpose of an Oscars opening monologue surely isn’t to ‘bring everyone down’.
Harris then offered his thoughts on one popular segment of the telecast, when DeGeneres led a delivery guy on stage to divvy up pizza among the celebs seated in the first couple of rows.
“That [pizza] bit went on for a while didn’t it? I won’t lie to you about that. I was like, where you going with the pizza babe?” he said.
