Lenny Kravitz to bring his famed leather pants and mesh tops to Aussie stages in November

Lenny Kravitz is set to sizzle with his first tour of Australia in 13 years.

Ripped rock god Lenny Kravitz will hit arenas and a couple of special outdoor gigs for his Blue Electric Light tour to Australia in November, his first shows here in 13 years.

While tens of thousands of fans will witness the “Are You Gonna Go My Way” superstar in concert, the rest of Australia will be on gym watch for the chiselled rocker.

Kravitz broke the internet last year when he posted a video of him crushing weights wearing his trademark mesh top and leather pants in a New York gym.

The 61-year-old musician and actor said he is the “best shape of my life” as he takes his acclaimed tour and disciplined daily workout around the world.

“I’ve been doing this for years, and it’s a lifestyle, and a choice, and it’s a discipline. And it keeps me sharp,” he said.

“What’s more important is how it actually helps you with everything else, from the inside out, it’s not just a vain thing.

“I do it to keep my instrument in the shape that it should be in to function and it also helps me with everything.”

Kravitz has received rave reviews for his sexy, soulful rock-outs on the American and European legs of the world tour in support of his acclaimed 12th album Blue Electric Light released a year ago.

The Australian tour, with Jet as the support act, opens at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on November 18 and heads to Newcastle Entertainment Centre on November 19, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on November 21 and Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on November 25.

He performs a special outdoor concert at the Mildura Sporting Precinct on November 28, the first big gig in the Victorian food bowl since Kings of Leon in 2022, and closes out the tour at the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 29.

The musician, who has sold more than 40 million records, regards the shows as a “celebration” for rusted-on fans and the new generations discovering his music via streaming or his acting roles, including The Hunger Games franchise.

And he is loving how much the audience is getting into the new stuff as much as the old stuff.

“I’ve been to concerts with bands that I loved growing up and they might be introducing some new music and the feeling in the hall might be ‘ok, fine but get to the hits’ so I understand that,” he said.

“But (this tour) has been nothing like that, it’s been wonderful, and I take that and I’m full of gratitude.

“We’re mixing all the different songs from different years and putting them together to have a celebration of the music, of the message of us all being in this together ... the music is just as much theirs as it is mine.”

The “Fly Away” star has been getting his flowers during this “Lennaissance” over the past year, nominated for the Rock Hall of Fame and earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame where his daughter Zoe’s speech about his father’s long “relationship with the netted shirt” went viral.

“It was great. It was so, so good. And look, you got to laugh. You got to be able to laugh at yourself,” the proud dad said of his daughter’s hilarious speech.
