Sabrina Carpenter’s truly graphic new music video

Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega are locked in a deadly battle over the same guy in the pop star’s extreme new video.

NEWS OF THE WEEK: Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan reportedly split

Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega try to kill each other — and then kiss! — in the singer’s new Taste music video, which dropped late on Friday.

The morbid video began with a much-needed graphic warning before Carpenter left to seek revenge on her boyfriend’s new girlfriend, played by Ortega.

However, the Espresso singer, 25, wasn’t ready for the Wednesday star, 21, to put up such a gory fight — with guns, machetes, voodoo dolls, fire and even more unusual weapons, such as her own severed limb.

The bloodbath that ensued seems straight out of a horror film, complete with a movie-worthy plot twist.

As Ortega shared a steamy make-out with the male lead, she seemed to have a sexual awakening as she envisioned kissing Carpenter instead.

Upon the realisation, the Halloween star whipped out a chainsaw and drove it through Carpenter’s chest. However, it ended up being the boyfriend instead.

The moment was perfectly timed with the lyrics, “Well I heard you’re back together and if that’s true / You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissing you.”

It’s not all violence: The pair also share a steamy kiss.

Although the two attend the man’s funeral together, they end up leaving early to grab coffee and compare notes on their “insecure,” “clingy” and now-deceased ex.

Fans online quickly noticed several of the bloody shots seemed to reference iconic moments in cinematic history.

At one point, Ortega wore a nurse costume and eye patch reminiscent of the one Daryl Hannah wore in Kill Bill Vol. 1.

They also referenced 2000’s Ginger Snaps when Carpenter was impaled on a white picket fence, leaving her with a massive hole in her abdomen.

Several other scenes seemed to be an ode to Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn’s hit, Death Becomes Her.

Carpenter’s highly anticipated album Short n’ Sweet was officially released on Friday. Her first two singles from the album — Please, Please, Please and Espresso — dominated the charts when they came out earlier this year.

Her music video for Please, Please, Please also garnered over 81 million views in the two months since it was posted. Carpenter used the Bonnie-and-Clyde-themed video to hard-launch her relationship with her actor boyfriend, Barry Keoghan.

Although the fun shoot cemented their romance, the pair reportedly hit a rough spot soon after. Amid break-up rumours, a source told People last week that the couple’s relationship is “on and off.”

However, they did not clarify Carpenter’s current relationship status with the Saltburn star.
