US pop star Olivia Rodrigo has embraced another Australian pantry staple as she continues the Aussie leg of her Guts world tour.
Performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Sunday night — her third concert at the venue since kicking off her Aussie shows on October 9 — the singer rocked a tank top with an adorable message scrawled on the front.
“Vegemite just be in love,” read the singer’s tee as she belted out her chart-topper Good 4 U.
And this wasn’t the first time Rodrigo referenced famous Australian cuisine and culture.
On the opening night in Melbourne, she rocked a tank that read, “Bad Idea, I reckon?” which was referencing her song Bad Idea, Right? as well as our Aussie saying.
Then on might two she had the word “Crickey” scrawled on her crop top.
It remain to be seen what the California-born star’s slogan will be tonight as she wraps up her Melbourne shows and makes her way down to Sydney to perform four sold-out concerts at Qudos Bank Arena on October 17, 18, 21 and 22.
Our slang words aren’t the only Aussie things Rodrigo has championed.
Last week, she also shared her experience tasting one of our most beloved food offerings for the first time.
After having just performed two back-to-back shows at Rod Laver Arena, she took some down time to explore the streets of Melbourne before trying our beloved Tim Tams.
After being spotted casually wandering around Collingwood last week, the Driver’s License singer shared a TikTok video of herself sitting in her hotel room smashing through a packet of the yummy bikkies.
Speaking to a voiceover on the clip, Rodrigo described the choccy bikkie as “spectacular”, demanding, “Get me 14 of them right now.”
She also captioned the post: “First time in australia and omg i get the tim tam hype.”
Rodrigo got her big break on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark in 2016, later finding greater fame on Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019, before shifting her focus to a music career.
In 2021, she released her mega-hit Drivers License, which peaked atop the US Billboard Hot 100 and the ARIA charts here. The song featured on her debut studio album Sour, which al so features hits Brutal, Traitor and Deja Vu.
Her second album Guts was released in September 2023 and achieved similar success with hits Vampire, Get Him Back! and Teenage Dream.
