Taylor Swift fans have been met with a massive surprise only a day out from the start of her sold out Australia tour.

Taylor Swift fans will have one last chance to grab tickets to the pop superstar’s Melbourne show after a surprising last-minute sale.

New tickets to Swift’s show at the MCG on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will go sale on the Ticketek website from 4pm on Thursday.

The online queue to purchase tickets from the Ticketek website was already live on Thursday afternoon for fans eager to get a ticket.

The sale was first noticed by eagle-eyed fans who reported seeing something suspicious on the Ticketek website on Thursday morning and had been monitoring it since.

Frontier Touring made the official announcement at 3pm - just an hour before the sale started.

The news was met with glee by eager fans who had missed out on repeated ticket sales.

“Please, please let me in today,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“I don’t know if i can live the sixth time doing this.”

Another wrote: “If I don’t get them after trying for every single released, today I will scream”.

Others were less optimistic, with on user writing: “Guys, don’t believe them. They are just fooling everyone”.

Frontier Touring said tickets would be released in varying price categories during “production releases”.

“You will be able to see what ticket types are available when through to the event page on Ticketek,” they said.

It comes as thousands of fans are expected to descend on the stadium, as well as Sydney’s Accor arena, for sold out shows.

Swift will perform her three-and-a-half-hour long setlist for about 86,000 fans each night, before flying to Sydney for another four-night run from February 23 to 26.
