AXL Rose and Slash are to hit the stage together for the first time in more than 20 years as part of a 2016 Guns N’ Roses reunion.
The once-estranged former band mates will team up as part of a headline set at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California in April, according to new reports.
Slash and Axl will also perform together at the new Las Vegas Arena, which is set to open on April 6, and there are plans afoot for Guns N’ Roses shows, featuring the duo, in 25 North American stadiums over the summer, Billboard reports.
The last show Axl and Slash played together was in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1993.
Coachella boss Paul Tollett and AEG executives, who will operate the new Las Vegas Arena, have yet to make an official announcement about the reports surrounding the reunion shows, but the news comes days after rock fans were given major hints about a Slash/Axl Rose get together.
A cryptic update to the band’s website suggested something was brewing, and then movie fans attending screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens were treated to footage of a concert crowd with the group’s music playing in the background as part of the pre-film festivities.
A Guns N’ Roses classic line-up reunion has been rumoured for years, and last month Motley Crue star Nikki Sixx told fans the original band mates were indeed reuniting for a world tour.
Hosting a question-and-answer session on Twitter.com, the bassist told fans “everybody knows” about the tour plans, suggesting it was one of the worst-kept secrets in music.
