The cause of a huge fire that destroy the $10 million-dollar Los Angeles mansion of British supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne has been revealed.
The star’s parents told a photographer Delevingne was “probably devastated” and said the fire was believed to be caused by an electrical fault, starting after “something fell on” a powerline during “very windy conditions”, reports Page Six.
A Los Angeles Fire Department public information office said blaze started hear the back of the home and “consumed” a room, which caused the roof of the property to collapses.
The fire burned for more than two hours and took 94 firefighters to extinguish it, it was reported.
There was “nothing to suggest that it was criminal activity”, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
“There is no indication of an arson or criminal investigation right now,” LAPD said.
Earlier, Delevingne spoke out about the horror fire that engulfed her home, sharing a heartbreaking post about her “cherished” cats.
“My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye. So Cherish what you have.”
She accompanied the post with a picture of her two cats, before posting a clip of her house ablaze.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the firefighters and people that have showed up to help,” she said.
According to TMZ, a call came in at 3.52am local time (9.52pm AEDT) reporting a fire at the massive property that had overtaken most of the mansion, located in Los Angeles’ exclusive Studio City neighbourhood.
The 31-year-old was in London where she is starring in a West End production of cabaret and was not home at the time of the fire.
Four ambulances were also sent to the scene, according to the outlet.
One firefighter was injured falling off a ladder while trying to put the fire out, though the extent of his injuries are not known — and one occupant who was in the home at the time of the blaze was treated for smoke inhalation.
Delevingne’s house, which she purchased in 2019, boasts four bedrooms and six bathrooms and is 2500 square metres.
It was featured in Architectural Digest in 2021.
Delevingne previously owned a Hollywood home with her sister, actress and model Poppy Delevingne, that they purchased from actor Jared Leto — and then sold to Usher for $3.4 million in September 2022, according to the Daily Mail.
In 2022, she checked herself into rehab for substance abuse issues after she was photographed acting erratically in LA.
In an interview with Elle UK, she said that quitting alcohol made her “stable” and “calmer.”
