Chilling Jurassic Park reboot trailer drops starring Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson

The first trailer for the hugely anticipated Jurassic Park reboot starring Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson has finally dropped.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Jurassic Park reboot has finally been unveiled.

The movie is set to take place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, which was widely panned by critics and some fans.

While it’s usually dinosaurs attempting to do the hunting in the franchise, the new plot turns that on its head.

Despite their attempt to repopulate the planet, much of the earth’s ecosystems have proven largely inhospitable to our dinosaurs friends and enemies.

The handful of those still remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three biggest creatures live within their own tropical biosphere and hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous lifesaving benefits to humankind.

Sounds great right? Sadly for Bailey and Johannson, they soon find themselves coming face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.

Excitingly, original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp is back on board for this new instalment, with Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards helming the blockbuster.

Scarlett Johansson stars as skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on the top-secret mission to the necessary secure genetic material.

When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinosaurs, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face something unimaginable.

Mahershala Ali co-stars as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team leader, while Wicked star Jonathan Bailey plays palaeontologist Dr. Henry Loomis.

Other Hollywood actors include Rupert Friend as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.

Jurassic Park: Dominion was savaged by critics upon its release, scoring a franchise low of just 29% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film, which brought back Laura Dern, Sam Neil and Jeff Goldbloom, was labelled an “uninspired sequel that overstayed its welcome due to its overdrawn runtime”.

Here’s hoping Johannson and Bailey manage to inject some much needed life into this ageing franchise and bring it back to its former glory days.

Rebirth is scheduled for release on July 2, 2025.
