Filming is underway in Adelaide for new series Top End Bub, a television spin-off to 2019 hit movie Top End Wedding.
Filming for Screen Australia’s new eight-part Prime Video series kicked off on Tuesday with cast and crew spotted filming along Pirie Street.
Leading lady Miranda Tapsell was present on set, reprising her role as dynamic Indigenous lawyer Lauren.
Tapsell, who is also the show’s co-creator, will star alongside The Great’s Gwilym Lee, who plays Ned, to continue the newlyweds love story in Adelaide.
The show follows the couple as they move from the big city to the Top End to raise Lauren’s orphaned eight-year-old niece, Taya, AKA ‘Bub’, played by Gladys-May Kelly in her debut role.
Fan favourites including Ursula Yovich and Huw Higginson, who play Lauren’s parents Daffy and Trevor, along with Shari Sebbens as Ronelle, Elaine Crombie as Dana, and Tracy Mann as Ned’s mum, will also return to the screen.
Rob Collins who played the priest in the 2019 film along with Brooke Satchwell, Guy Simon and Claren Ryan will also join the cast.
The cast recently wrapped up filming in the Top End, with locations including Darwin and the Tiwi Islands.
Top End Bub will launch on Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand next year.
