Miley Cyrus has lost more than $A1 million in the sale of her Malibu mansion she once shared with her Aussie ex Liam Hemsworth.

The Wrecking Ball singer splashed $2.525 ($A3.75) million on the lavish pad in 2016, which was next door to Hemsworth’s home.

However, the sale price took a hit after it damaged by fire in 2018, with Cyrus walking away with just $1.7 million ($A2.52 million) in the latest deal - an $825,000 ($A1.23) million difference.

The contract for the two-storey home was inked on January 24, according to RadarOnline, just days before the pair’s marriage was officially dissolved.

Hemworth’s neighbouring property, once the couple’s main residence, was also completely destroyed in the blaze. In November last year, it emerged he had finally filed permits to start redeveloping the block.

After the devastating event, the pair took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking before and after picture of the home, with only “love” sign left among the rubble.

The title change came four days before Cyrus and Hemsworth’s divorced was finalised, ending their brief marriage.

The couple separated and Hemsworth filed for divorce in August, about eight months after he and Cyrus married.

Hemsworth and Cyrus have no children, and neither sought spousal support. Documents cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

In a statement announcing their separation, they said they were choosing to focus on themselves and their careers and would remain “dedicated parents to all of their animals they share.”

The pair spent sporadic stints as a couple for nearly a decade before they married in December 2018.

The day after Hemsworth filed for divorce, Cyrus denied on Twitter that her infidelity was the reason.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating,” Cyrus said in one of a series of tweets.

“Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
