Megan Fox has broken her silence over claims she’s undergone surgery after a picture emerged of her from the Super Bowl looking “unrecognisable”.
Fox was seen posing with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in snaps that made their way online, but some fans claimed to have had struggled to recognise the actress.
Flashing the camera with a kiss and a peace sign, Fox shared the picture online and hit back at criticism of her appearance in the fiery caption,
She wrote: “Oh my god guys look how different I … don't look at all. Turns out it was just a shadowy cell phone pic of me looking like a Ukrainian blow-up doll. when in REALITY I look like one of those super expensive silicone real sex dolls you can only get in Japan.”
But her phrasing angered many of her followers with some labelling her insensitive for referencing Ukraine.
“While Megan was busy typing the word ‘Ukrainian’ in her caption as a joke, Russian military has already normalised sexual violence as a norm in the occupied regions of Ukraine. Women, children, and the elderly will have been sexually abused in the occupied regions of Ukraine by Russian soldiers. But Megan go ahead and have a laugh,” wrote one follower.
Another replied: “What a weird thing to post,” with a third adding: “Come to Ukraine and see what Ukrainian women are, who we are and what are we going through – daily. To realise what a catastrophic disrespectful shame you just written.”
The star has previously spoken out about her difficult journey to loving her appearance. “I have body dysmorphia. I don’t ever see myself the way other people see me,” she said in the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
“There is never a point in my life where I loved my body, ever ever.” The actress, who shares her three kids with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, also noted that she had an “awareness” and “obsession” with her image from a very young age.
She and Green, 50, called it quits in 2020, and she got engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, 33, two years later.
