Married At First Sight Australia’s Lucinda reveals estrangement from Timothy

Married At First Sight’s Lucinda has posted a lengthy statement revealing she is no longer on friendly terms with ‘husband’ Timothy.

They left Married At First Sight as close friends, while also expressing hope for a possible romance in the future.

But it appears Lucinda Light and Timothy Smith have fallen out in the months since the finale of the Channel 9 dating series aired in April.

A few weeks ago, fans began leaving comments on both Lucinda and Timothy’s posts after noticing they had mysteriously unfollowed one another.

Now, the Byron Bay-based celebrant, who fast became a fan favourite in the latest season for her support and patience of Timothy during the show, took to Instagram with a lengthy statement explaining the pair’s recent estrangement.

“In regards to the comments and blocking Tim has done~Conscious, clear and kind communication would have been my preference. If I’d offended Tim, I would have loved a phone conversation toward resolve,” Lucinda began in the caption alongside a photo of the duo.

Lucinda has revealed she is no longer on close terms with Timothy.

Further explaining where relations went south, Lucinda said she had expressed her “upset” to fellow cast members during private conversations in recent weeks, suggesting the information she shared had been relayed to Timothy.

“A couple of times I’ve confided in other cast members about genuine processes I’ve had since the show and behaviours that have upset me. I’m sure I’m not alone in that, we all need to process and share,” Lucinda explained.

Lucinda and Timothy remained friends after leaving the Channel 9 series just before final vows.

She continued, “Going on a reality TV show has been a huge experience and in many ways, I’m still processing it.

“In my heart, I’ve always held Tim with understanding and compassion. I take responsibility for any hurt I may of caused by sharing my feelings and hurts.

“I appreciate the feedback from any cast members or anyone that feels I’ve upset Tim in anyway, certainly not my intention. If Tim doesn’t know what I stand for from the months of hanging out then there’s nothing I can do to about that. I only wish Tim all the love & success.”

In April, Lucinda left fans optimistic the couple had rekindled their romance, sharing a series of selfies as the former couple caught up in Sydney.

The couple gave fans hope they may get back together.

But the two had unfollowed each other on social media in mid-June, with Timothy telling Yahoo Lifestyle their friendship suffered due to their differing lifestyles.

“Lucinda was a little different to who he had been married to during filming,” he told the publication.

Timothy struggled to replicate Lucinda’s affections during their time in the experiment, grappling with vulnerability following a string of deaths in his family leading up to the show.

By the couple’s retreat in later episodes, the pair had turned a corner, with Timothy finally letting his walls down.

While they didn’t make it to final vows, opting to leave the series as friends, Timothy did tell the MAFS experts there was “for sure” potential for them to make things work down the track.

“I always said it wasn’t the ending of something but the beginning of something,” he said at the time.
