Margot Robbie has been spotted showing off her baby bump after reports emerged that she’s expecting her first child with her husband, Tom Ackerley.

Pictures of Robbie, 34, boarding a boat in Lake Como over the weekend showed the Aussie star in a pair of black pants and a matching black blazer, showing off her baby bump in a cropped white T-shirt.

Neither Robbie nor Ackerley have officially confirmed the news.

The happy couple started dating in 2014 after meeting on the set of World War II Suite Française the year before.

Tom, who grew up in Woking, Surrey, was working as an assistant director on the film, while she was in front of the camera.

The pair became firm friends and decided to move in together in Clapham, south-west London, with five other cast members from the movie.

They signed a lease on a four bedroom flat which they ironically called The Manor and enjoyed a student lifestyle of drinking pints at grimy south London night club Infernos and relaxed picnics on Clapham Common.

Robbie was already a household name due to her starring role in the Wolf of Wall Street in 2013 when her friendship with Ackerley blossomed into something more.

They married in 2016 in a private ceremony in Coorabell in Byron Bay’s hinterland.

There was no public announcement about the nuptials and the media were only alerted to the wedding when Robbie turned up at Gold Coast airport wearing a T-shirt that said “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under”.

In a 2019 interview with Radio Times, Robbie candidly discussed the social pressures of starting a family shortly after marriage.

“I got married, and the first question in almost every interview is, ‘Babies? When are you having one?’” she said.

“I’m so angry that there’s this social contract. You’re married, now have a baby. Don’t presume. I’ll do what I’m going to do.”

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Times, Robbie and Ackerley, who are fiercely private about their personal lives, have given fans a little insight into what their marriage is really like behind closed doors.

When quizzed over when they find themselves arguing at home, Ackerley said the topic that he and Robbie clash over is chocolate biscuits.

It turns out the couple find themselves at loggerheads over a big cultural sticking point between the UK and Australia: “whether Tim Tams or Penguins are better”.

Similar to the famous Aussie brand of TimTam biscuits, Penguins are a British treat consisting of two malted biscuits separated by a hard chocolate cream filling and coated in a thin layer of chocolate.

He added that he wished “there was more of a sporting rivalry” between Australia and the UK, noting that he “feels like an honorary Aussie” and “Margot feels like an honorary Brit”.

Elsewhere during the interview, the pair shared that when they aren’t apart from each other, they spend “24 hours a day” together.

They also, he said, do not separate business and pleasure. “It’s seamless,” said Ackerley. “We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”
