Bickmore, who will make her first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Evie in March, said she was a winner even if she didn’t take out the Gold Logie tonight.
“I kind of feel like I’ve already won this year,” Bickmore said.
Fellow nominees Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, along with last year’s winner Scott Cam, all played down their chances of winning television’s coveted top gong.
“We just want a good clean fight out there,” Lee says.
Bickmore, who will make her first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Evie earlier this year, says she’s a winner even if she doesn’t take out the Gold Logie tonight.
“I kind of feel like I’ve already won this year,” she says.
“I hadn’t had that much time to think about it, which is good.
“I’ve had my head in pooey nappies and trying to get sleep.”
Bickmore, who topped the best dressed list last year in a Paolo Sebastian gown, had her first fitting for this year’s gown with the designer while she was pregnant and the second a week after she gave birth.
“Neither are times you want to have a dress fitting,” she says.
But Bickmore is thrilled with the final result.
“Because it’s Paolo it miraculously fits like a glove,” she says.
“It’s very different this year. It’s a colour and a fabric I have never worn on a red carpet.”
Cam says if he wins he’s planning on converting the Logie into a corkscrew after famously embedding a bottle opener into the end of last years gold Logie.
“I reckon the missus wouldn’t mind a corkscrew for her chardies,” he says.
For Lee, it’s the third time he has been up for the gong, and the second time he has gone up against Blake (Lee has never won, while Blake took home the prize in 2012).
Lee doesn’t think he will go home with the prize tonight either, tipping Bickmore.
“Nor should we win,” he says. “Hame and I go on holidays for six weeks a year to do our show and there’s amazing talent who basically do our entire year’s work in a week in terms of hours in television.”
Luxbet has Scott Cam favourite at $2.10 while CrownBet has Carrie Bickmore favourite at $1.40.
Home and Away star Pia Miller is attending her first Logies representing the long-running soap, which will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The glamorous model and actor joined the series in February.
“It’s going to be fantastic to be part of the Home and Away team,” she said. “What a first Logies to be a part of.”
Designer Christopher Esber has created a custom gown with Swarovski crystals in a dramatic neckline.
“It has iconic Christopher Esber features, it’s black but it’s far from a plain black dress,” Miller said.
Set to perform tonight are international acts Ricky Martin, Meghan Trainor and The Script.
Delta Goodrem has also confirmed she will attend tonight.
