Libby O’Donovan shares touching videos after split from SA country music queen Beccy Cole

SA musician Libby O’Donovan has posted for the first time since SA country music queen Beccy Cole called their break-up “the darkest time of her life”.

Adelaide musician Libby O’Donovan says “laughter is the greatest medicine” following her split from country music queen Beccy Cole.

Cole was inducted into the Australasian Country Music Roll of Renown last week in her first public appearance since her marriage collapsed.

Breaking her silence after the split, Cole said she went on a downward spiral when her marriage ended on Boxing Day last year.

Following Cole’s heartbreaking admission, O’Donovan shared a touching video of her recording a song snippet with her daughter Bootsy.

“Laughter is one of the greatest medicines ever,” she wrote in the post.

“A big laugh to fill your body up with the good vibes does wonders for your soul and heart and mind … even when it feels broken.”

O’Donovan also shared a snippet of her rehearsals for ‘Love Sermon, a show written with Clementine Ford, which she will be performing at the Woodville Town Hall on Sunday, May 9.

“Singing with dear friends is absolutely the most beautiful, healing, rejuvenating, soul reviving feeling,” she wrote in the post.

Speaking about her split from Cole, O’Donovan said she would cherish the nine years the pair spent together.

Beccy Cole is ready to hit the road.

“It is my hope always that our respect and love for each other continues as we navigate the next chapter,” she said.

Cole is already packing for her next “Aussie Road Crew” tour which sees fans camp and travel with the singer across the country.

“I want to show women who are getting to a mature age, that life isn’t over, I feel like I have many more years of touring in me.

“I feel energised, I’m still a work in progress, but I feel ready for the road, ready for the songs.”
