South Australian reality TV star Jo Fincham has taken to social media to share why she chooses to dismiss International Women’s Day.
The 2008 Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) fan favourite posted a series of stories to Instagram on Wednesday night, beginning the rantwith “controversial story coming …”.
“I don’t celebrate International Women’s Day,” she said.

“Our (women) role is to do everything a man can’t do.”
Ms Fincham continued to explain how she “loves it when a man opens the door” and “helps me carry something heavy”.
“Call me old fashioned … I would never get offended if a guy wolf whistled at me,” she said.
“I have so much respect for the male race and their role in society.
“We need the masculine energy to balance the feminine energies and vice versa.”
She went on to say how she supports businesses and women making the choice to mark the occasion.
“I believe women are the most amazing specimens.”
“But for me, women’s and men’s day is everyday … let’s hear it for the boys too.”
She concluded her comments with a joke about creating a day to celebrate a popular snack food.
“I would totally get around International Barbecue Shapes Day.”
Ms Fincham appeared on the second season of FWAW in 2008, falling for Rob Hodges.
The pair married in 2010 and share three children, Darcy, Maggie and Roy.
Now residing in the state’s south east, the couple run a sheep and cattle farm in Mingbool, northeast of Mt Gambier, where they also have a health and wellbeing studio, The Nourish Nook.
