Pop princess Kylie Minogue is heading home for her first Australian tour in almost six years – and she hasn’t forgotten her adoring Adelaide fans.
The ageless music icon will perform at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on February 18, the second of seven dates on the Australian leg of her Tension Tour next year.
Minogue, who last performed in Adelaide at the Entertainment Centre in March 2019, will also play arena shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to support her new album Tension II.
Minogue’s SA concert – part of her biggest global tour since 2011 – is welcome news for local music fans after Adelaide was snubbed by major acts in recent weeks.
Punk rock heavyweights Green Day, British singer Dua Lipa and US rockers The Killers are among the big names who have left Adelaide off their upcoming Australian tour schedules.
Minogue, 56, a two-time Grammy award winner, was set to headline this year’s Splendour in the Grass music festival in July, but the event was axed in March.
Now the Padam Padam hit maker said she can’t wait to “share beautiful and wild moments” with her fans across the world.
“It’s been an exhilarating ride so far and now, get ready for your close up because I will be calling Lights, Camera, Action … and there will be a whole lot of Padaming,” said Minogue, who will continue onto Asia and then tour the UK in May.
Padam Padam, released last year, spent three weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s dance-electronic digital song sales chart. A sold-out residency in Las Vegas followed.
Minogue will release Tension II, a sequel to her chart-topping Tension album, on October 18.
Tickets for Minogue’s Australian tour go on sale to Telstra members on Tuesday, September 24.
Frontier members can access another presale starting on Thursday, September 26 before tickets go on sale to the public on Wednesday, October 2, at frontiertouring.com/kylie
