Jodie Oddy’s radio comeback is complete, with the former top-rating presenter revealed as one of Nova 919’s new breakfast hosts.

Oddy will be joined by Andrew Hayes on the station’s revamped early morning show next year, replacing Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton, who are moving to Nova in Melbourne.

Two years after her sudden departure from Mix 102.3, Oddy has returned to the timeslot she once made her own at Mix.

“Watching Ben & Liam perform and have fun made me realise that I did have unfinished business so I’m honestly pumped to be back,” she said.

“It’s not an something I necessarily thought would come up again, let alone on such a great network.”

Hayes, a former SEN breakfast co-host with Kane Cornes, is also a Seven sports reporter and ex-SANFL footballer with Central District.

Oddy said the pair – who will host a 7am-9am weekday shift starting in January – have worked together previously and are “genuine friends”.

“The fact that he makes me laugh, particularly at his lack of dress sense only bodes well for the future,” she said.

Oddy quit Mix 102.3 suddenly in November 2020 after 13 years at the station, amid falling ratings for her breakfast show with then co-host Mark Soderstrom.

She had previously recorded 82 ratings wins in the FM breakfast timeslot during her 13 years at Mix.

Nine months after her shock exit, Oddy was back on the airwaves at Nova, anchoring a Saturday morning breakfast program, The Jodie Oddy Show, from August last year.

Also a freelance journalist for Network 10’s Adelaide newsroom, Oddy was joined on the Saturday Nova show by two of her TV colleagues, Tiff Money and Max Burford.

Harvey and Stapleton will replace Nova Melbourne’s outgoing trio of Chrissie Swan, Jonathan Brown and Sam Pang in the high-profile early morning time slot from January.

They’re also adding a new full-time member to the team, longtime producer Belle Jackson.

The new Ben, Liam and Belle breakfast program will air from 6-9am in Melbourne, but will also record a special one-hour Adelaide-only show from 6-7am.
