Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton set to bring ghoulish glamour to Sydney

The cast of Netflix’s hit series ‘Wednesday’ are set to descend upon Sydney. Star Jenna Ortega, joined by co-star Emma Myers and legendary director Tim Burton will launch season two with a three-day festival.

Wednesday Addams is coming to town.

Confidential is excited to spread word Jenna Ortega and the cast of hit Netflix series Wednesday are set to bring a ghoulish extravaganza to Sydney in what is possibly one of the biggest television launches ever to descend on the Harbour City.

Ortega, who of course plays Wednesday Addams in the series, will be joined by co-star Emma Myers, seen on screen as ‘terminally cheerful’ Enid Sinclair.

To top things off, directing legend Tim Burton is also part of the ‘peculiar’ entourage that also includes show creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

It is the final stop on the Wednesday global Doom Tour to launch season two of the series, for which the first installation was the most streamed English language show to ever come out of the Netflix juggernaut.

“This Sydney jaunt promises an intoxicating dose of doom, gloom, and satisfyingly dreadful surprises,” a press blurb read.

It will be a three-day celebration, starting on August 14 and culminating in the Wednesday Island Festival to Die For at Sydney’s Cockatoo Island, a renowned ghost spot.

Aussie muso Peach PRC will be providing the tunes, as will Ula.

The island will be sectioned off into different areas, including the Nevermore Academy “where we embrace every Outcast: Werewolves, Vampires, Sirens, Gorgons, DaVincis and more”.

There’s also The Doll House, The Dead Lounge and Decay Cabaret “where the living perform, and the dead applaud”.

More surprises are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

Part 1 of season two of Wednesday launches on Netflix on August 6 with Part 2 out on September 3.

“Wednesday Addams returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await,” the season synopsis reads.

“This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

Other stars of the show include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Gwendoline Christie, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Christina Ricci.
