Jade Robran announces she is quitting as host of FIVEaa afternoons program

Another Adelaide radio presenter has announced they will step away from hosting duties.

Jade Robran has announced she will be leaving her post as host of FIVEaa radio’s afternoons show.

Her departure from the show was announced on FIVEaa’s website, with Robran saying that after two years as host, she will be stepping away.

“It is my decision and it’s been a really tough one, and one that I haven’t taken lightly, but it is best for me and my family,” she said.

“I just wanted to say how much of a privilege it has been to share your afternoons with you and bring you all the news and events around our beautiful city.

“What I’ve really loved the most is the great laughs that we have had and the fact that you ring in and you share your personal stories with me and you trust me with that, and that is not lost on me.

“From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for an incredible two years everybody. FIVEaa has been an amazing place to work and I’ve got some great mates here.”

Robran is an experienced journalist who had worked for more than 15 years on television before switching to radio.

FIVEaa station manager Craig Munn said they were “extremely supportive” of Robran’s decision to step back, and that there were plans to keep her involved in the station in 2024, which will be announced “as soon as possible”.

“Jade has been an exceptional member of our FIVEaa team for the past two years, providing our audiences an excellent afternoons program that has always kept listeners up to date and abreast of topics and issues relevant to Adelaide and South Australia,” Mr Munn said.

Robran’s final show will be this Friday. A permanent replacement has not yet been announced.

Her decision to step away follows ABC Adelaide’s evenings presenter Peter Goers announcing last week he would retire from broadcasting next month after 20 years on Adelaide radio.
