Jackie ‘O Henderson reveals plans to quit The Kyle & Jackie Show amid ratings woes

Jackie O’ Henderson made a shocking announcement on Friday’s episode of The Kyle and Jackie Show just months after her $10m deal.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has revealed plans to quit The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Henderson famously signed a 10-year deal with ARN in 2023 which was reportedly worth a whopping $200m.

And now it seems Henderson plans to use the hefty sum to allow her to retire the moment her deal runs out in 2034.

The 50-year-old presenter made the surprising confession during the latest episode of the pair’s show, which has recently suffered from some ratings woes.

“That’s my plan – at the end of the 10 years to go to Italy and live there for six months every year,” she said.

“So what you’re saying is, after this 10-year deal’s up, that’s it for you?” he asked.

“Yep,” she replied, prompting stunned silence in the studio.

“Forget a dream... The shock here is I’ve got nine years left with her – that’s it,” replied Sandilands.

Henderson then teased: “Nine years is a long time,” to which Sandilands joked: “I plan to die on air.”

The Sydney radio duo signed their blockbuster contracts live on-air in 2023, telling listeners that they had extended their contract with ARN for another decade.

The landmark deal also saw their show broadcast in Melbourne for the first time.

A source close to the negotiations told news.com.au the contract “is worth more than $200 million and includes a base salary, shares, sign on bonuses, revenue share and ratings bonuses”.

Sandilands also has a clause that gives him the ability to broadcast the show from “anywhere on the earth” at the drop of a hat.

The groundbreaking deal means Sandilands and Henderson will each earn $10 million per year, which is double their former salary of around $5 million per year.

Meanwhile, it comes after Henderson revealed just how her addiction to pain medication started, citing a condition that impacts thousands of Australian women.

Last year, the 50-year-old media personality revealed that she had been secretly battling an addiction to pain killers, sleeping pills and alcohol. She’d since been to rehab and is now in recovery. The addiction started following her marriage breakdown with photographer Lee Henderson in 2018. The former couple share one daughter, 14-year-old Kitty.

During Thursday’s show, the mother-of-one shed more light on the reason behind her addiction.

“I got addicted because I was prescribed endone,” she said, revealing that, while later on she was using “dodgy” means to get her hands on the pills, it started off with “true pain”.

“I was going to the hospital every month with my endometriosis. It just got so out of control, I had to go to the hospital to get morphine and so they prescribed the endone to manage that.”

Last year Henderson revealed she was taking a large portion of pills, combined with alcohol, in an effort to relieve stress.
