A Fleurieu Milk Company farmer has been announced to appear on the next season of the hit television show Farmer Wants a Wife.
Nick Mignanelli, 22, from Hindmarsh Tiers, about 10km from Victor Harbor, will join the 2024 cast of farmers for the popular Channel 7 program.
In a social media post, the Fleurieu Milk Company announced their farmer would be starring in the show.
“We can’t wait to see you on the big screen mate – wishing you all the best on this adventure,” the post read.
Third-generation farmer Mr Mignanelli said he was involved with dairy “from a very young age”.
His grandparents Carmine and Lydia started the farm after arriving in Australia from Italy, which was continued by parents Eddy and Domenica.
The farm now has about 180 cows but in a video posted to the show’s Facebook page ahead of its run Mr Mignanelli said was looking for more than just farm animals.
“Love is wholesome … it’s something that cows and grass can’t quite fulfil.”
He said it would be “magical” to find a life partner on the show.
Mr Mignanelli is joined by fellow South Aussie, Zac, 28, from Strathalbyn, who is a third-generation cattle and crop farmer and helicopter musterer.
Zac also runs a helicopter scenic tours business and is a qualified agronomist who is set to take over his parent’s farm when they retire.
On the show’s website Zac describes himself as an “outgoing individual that has a bit of a hard time relaxing”.
Applications are now open to meet the farmers on the show.
