FIVEaa’s breakfast duo David Penberthy and Will Goodings are the toast of the town in Adelaide’s first radio ratings survey results released since April.
Surveys had been on hold because the coronavirus pandemic meant the diaries that participants use to record what they’re tuning into could not be collected.
While the latest results are called “Survey Six”, in reality, they make up the third survey for the year after surveys three, four and five were cancelled because of COVID-19.
FIVEaa’s David and Will have won the battle to become Adelaide’s number-one breakfast radio hosts. They’ve trumped ABC Adelaide’s Ali Clarke, who had been in top spot since the start of the year.
Dave and Will have had quite the victory finishing with 15.4 share points, up 1.5 from last survey. While Ali is runner up, she has dropped a substantial 2.5 to 14.2.
Last survey Mix 102.3’s Mark Soderstrom and guest co-host Erin Phillips were in third place, which is now occupied by Nova 91.9’s Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton who gained 1.3 to finish with 11. Their gain is Mix’s loss. Its breakfast program, with Soda and his regular co-host Jodie Oddy who listeners have welcomed back from maternity leave, is now fourth despite only losing 0.1 share points to finish with 10.5.
Triple M’s Mark “Roo” Ricciuto and Chris “Ditts” Dittmar are in fifth spot, followed by the rebranded SAFM, which has added Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann to its breakfast mix of Rebecca Morse and Andrew “Cosi” Costello.
But in what has to be very good news for the station, Mix 102.3 is still Adelaide’s no. 1 station overall with 13 share points up 1.1 from last survey.
FIVEaa is in second spot again with 12.2, while Nova, which finished fourth last survey, has moved up to third place with 10.4.
ABC Adelaide, which was joint runner-up with FIVEaa, is now fourth with 9.9, followed by Cruise 1323, which has moved back from third place to fifth with 9. The rebranded SAFM is in sixth spot with 8.6.
