Emmy Awards 2019: The best and worst dressed of TV’s biggest awards

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke had fans in a spin over her daring gown before the cast took an incredible selfie at the Emmy Awards. SEE THE PHOTOS

Game of Thrones stars dominated the purple carpet at this year’s 71st annual Emmy Awards with their unique and racy gowns.

But a selfie of the show’s stars during the ceremony has also broken the internet.

The image, posted on Instagram by Alfie Allen, shows Emilia Clarke, Gwendolin Christie, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey.

Conflicted feelings may loom for GoT fans who loved the series, hated its finale.

Christie arrived in a Gucci gown that was almost biblical in its appearance.

Fans on social media described it as being “like Jesus”.

Clarke also arrived in a daring gown with a plunging neckline that turned heads.

HBO and Foxtel’s fantasy saga headed into the ceremony with a record 32 nominations, collecting 10 awards at last weekend’s creative arts ceremony for technical and other achievements.

It wrapped up its run with an Emmy for best drama series — and 12 total for its final season.
