Drew Barrymore has touched down in Sydney ahead of the filming of her exclusive show An Evening with Drew Barrymore.
The superstar actress and talk show host landed just after midday at Sydney Airport on a private jet from the Sunshine Coast, touching down with her two daughters, Olive and Frankie, in tow.
From heartfelt conversations to unexpected surprises, Barrymore is set to open up about her life and career with audience members who will be able to ask the star personal questions as she relives some of the most tumultuous periods of her life.
Special guests set to sit down with Barrymore include Aussie stars Dannii Minogue and Terri Irwin.
Last year, Barrymore made a surprising confession about plastic surgery, revealing that while she’s now in a much better place and thriving in both her career and personal life, there are issues from the past still appear to haunt aspects of her life.
“I have a highly addictive personality, so I worry I’d continue to chase it, get this and that done,” Barrymore explained to PEOPLE. “That scares me, just because of my own approach to things,” she added. “So, I’m waiting on making any alterations.”
The actress — who battled substance abuse as an adolescent and gave up drinking altogether in 2021 — insisted that she hasn’t “done anything” to fight the ageing process.
“And I’m going to maintain that as long as possible,” she said. “I have zero judgment for anyone doing anything. But I don’t see myself resorting to it.”
Barrymore has been very open throughout her life regarding her struggles, which began early in life when she became addicted to drugs at just 12 years old.
It led to her cutting all ties to her parents at 14. By 15 she had been shunned by Hollywood, and ended up being married and divorced twice by her mid-20s.
She revealed in 2017 that at one point, she was certain she would be dead before ever reaching her 30s, let alone her 40s.
“I really had a fear that I was going to die at 25,” she told The Guardian. “But no matter how dark s**t got, I always had a sense that there should be goodness. I never went all the way into darkness. There were so many things I could have done that would have pushed me over the edge and I just knew not to go there.”
