Mix 102.3 tops Adelaide’s FM breakfast radio ratings for 2021’s first ratings period, ABC Adelaide and FIVEaa still lead

How has Jodie Oddy’s departure from Mix 102.3 impacted Adelaide’s radio ratings? Check out the results from the year’s first listener survey.

Erin Phillips back in Crows' AFLW team

Erin Phillips is already kicking goals in her new role on Mix 102.3’s breakfast show.

In the first radio ratings for 2021, and her first since taking over full-time from Jodie Oddy, the Crows AFLW superstar and her co-host Mark Soderstrom have maintained top spot on the FM dial in the crucial early morning timeslot.

The pair is behind only ABC Adelaide radio presenter Ali Clarke and FIVEaa duo David Penberthy and Will Goodings in the overall breakfast ratings.

Phillips said the survey was a “great result” for the station and the new-look show.

“I’m loving this role and our team here works incredibly hard. I just want to thank everyone who tunes in every morning and has fun with us,” she said.

Phillips replaced Oddy in January after the longtime Mix co-host made her shock exit from brekkie radio on November 19, resigning effective immediately and without fully explaining the reasons for her departure.

But it appears Mix hasn’t missed a beat in her absence, with Phillips and Soderstrom solidifying their position as the top FM breakfast show.

In the overall breakfast battle, Penberthy and Goodings have closed the gap at the top, gaining 2.6 share points to finish on 14.8, just behind Clarke who fell slightly to 15.2.

Behind Mix in fourth place is the revamped SAFM breakfast show of Rebecca Morse, Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann, which enjoyed a healthy 1.6 increase to vault from sixth to fourth in the early morning timeslot, ahead of Cruise1323, Triple M and Nova 919. The latter both suffered significant falls in listeners.

It’s a particularly impressive survey from SAFM, which switched back from hit107 in late July last year, at the same time adding funnyman Lehmo to their Bec & Cosi brekkie program.

Mix is still Adelaide’s number one station overall with 13 share points, picking up 1.3 from the previous survey, to finish ahead of ABC Adelaide and easy listening Cruise1323 in equal second place on 10.8, with FIVEaa and Nova close behind.
