He admits it he is “fairly old” to have his first child at 50 years of age, but Aussie country singer Adam Brand says he’s loving “every aspect of it” as he releases his latest album Speed Of Life, which was largely inspired by his daughter.

Becoming a father at 50 has softened award-winning country singer Adam Brand in a way he didn’t expect.
And inevitably and understandably, the arrival of now 10-month-old daughter Pepper has influenced his music.
“Being a dad has made me a walking ball of emotion,” Brand told Confidential.
“It is the most incredible thing that I have ever been a part of.”
With the COVID-19 crisis hitting hard, Brand is relishing spending more time at home with his family. He was due to perform at the CMC Rocks Festival this weekend, which has been cancelled due to coronavirus.
Brand’s new album — Speed Of Life — was largely inspired by his daughter, and in particular a song called Fly, that although he didn’t write, it hit home.
“I am a fairly old dad, at 50 years old to have your first baby is getting up there,” the multiple Golden Guitar winner said.
“I love every aspect of it. I love the waking up at night. I love the crying, the nappies, the showers, it is kind of like I have been waiting my whole life to feel this.
“It changed me from within, from the inside from the very first couple of weeks of knowing that this human being was coming into the world and that I was partly responsible for it, it started changing me from the inside.”

Speed Of Life was released this month and is Brand’s 15th studio album.
“For me it is life anthems,” said Brand, who competed on The Masked Singer reality show last year.
“Of all the albums I have made, it was the most calm, relaxed process. I wasn’t sitting there trying to figure out what was going to be a hit or not a hit. I was simply leading with my heart. I just wanted to make the most sincere album that I want to listen to and that my little girl will want to listen to. It took the stress away.”
