Sweet smell of sartorial success

The Veronicas’ Lisa and Jessica Origliasso have banded together with two rock stars of South Australian fashion to promote their first scent, Untouched.

Adelaide-born Nicole Bonython-Hines, who has worked with INXS and Kylie Minogue, styled the fragrance campaign, photographed by Georges Antoni.

Bonython-Hines transformed Minogue from girl-next-door to sex kitten for her 1990 Better The Devil You Know video, going so far as to make her transparent trench coat from PVC bought at Bunnings.

For The Veronicas’ dramatic look, Bonython-Hines called on Adelaide label Couture+Love+Madness’ founder, Cristina Tridente, to design two gowns.

Fashioned from 50m of tulle, the gold and red tiered dresses took about 40 hours to make.

Tridente, whose couture has been worn by Dannii Minogue and Charli XCX, described The Veronicas gig as a “career highlight”.

With “warm notes” of amber and sandalwood and the “lightness and sweet depths” of waterlily, Untouched – a unisex and cruelty-free fragrance – is available from Chemist Warehouse.
