SLUMDOG Millionaire star Dev Patel, in town to film the big budget thriller Hotel Mumbai, had a taste of local Indian cuisine at Adelaide’s Jasmin restaurant with Hollywood co-stars Nazanin Boniadi and Anupam Kher.

An actor not listed on the Hotel Mumbai credits, Jason Isaac — best known as Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter — was also there (front right), having arrived in Adelaide just a few days ago.
It was a rare sighting of the actors who are filming under wraps at Adelaide Studio, particularly Nazanin, who will light up screens internationally as the beautiful slave daughter Esther in the $100 million remake of Ben Hur which opens on August 25.
In Hotel Mumbai, directed by South Australian writer and director Anthony Maras (front left) Nazanin plays one-half of a couple with a young baby who are trapped inside a hotel for four days while a terrorist attack — based on the real events in Mumbai in 2008 — unfolds.
Her husband is played by Armie Hammer from The Social Network who was missing from the Indian meal, as was young Adelaide actress Tilda Cobham-Hervey, who plays the couple’s nanny.
Nazanin, who was born in Iran but raised in London, has promoted the new Ben Hur on social media saying “With love, nothing is impossible”. It will be the first major remake of the 1959 film that made a star of Charlton Heston and was famous for its chariot race scene.
