Global beauty giant Sephora is opening a second store in Adelaide at Westfield Marion.

It will begin trading this year at a date to be announced in the coming months.

Founded in 1969 in Limoges, France, and a division of the LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton group, Sephora opened its first Adelaide store – its 20th in Australia – in Rundle Mall in October.

Prior to the 380sq m store’s launch more than 25 jobs were advertised, with the majority secured by locals.

With positions already advertised on sephora-jobs.applynow.net.au it is likely about the same number of employees would be required for the upcoming store if it is similar in size.

About 1500 fans of the brand queued up for the $1.6 million store in Rundle Mall to open on its first day of trading, with a number of people camping overnight to be first in line.

“We were honoured to have had such an amazing reception for our first Adelaide store opening last year,” Sephora’s Beth Glancey said.

“With that opening day response, and our continued success in the region there’s no question the demand is there for a second store, and we can’t wait to deliver that to our clients in 2020.”

Sephora stocks beauty lines from big names such as Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent and cult favourites including Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Kat von D Beauty and Juliette Has a Gun fragrances by Romano Ricci, who is the great-grand-son of Nina Ricci.

There is also an in-house brand which has make-up and skincare offerings at a nice price.

“We will be sharing more information in the coming months, but for now our clients in Adelaide can rest assured, we will be bringing more beauty to Westfield Marion, very soon,” Ms Glancey said.

The arrival of Sephora in Adelaide last year came six months after high-end beauty retailer Mecca, founded by Jo Horgan in Melbourne in 1997, opened its 100th outlet in Rundle Mall.

Mecca also has four other outlets in Adelaide; two stores at Burnside Village, one at Westfield Marion and a concept store in Myer Rundle Mall.
