A year after splashing $75,000 on a lavish 50th birthday, controversial property developer Jean Nassif marked another trip around the sun with a thumping nightclub bash.
Flanked by wife Nissy Nassif, social media videos show the colourful personality bopping to dance music as he is presented a cake and a bottle of French champagne with sparklers.
“Happy Birthday Baby … these pictures are #oldbutgold reminding me of how lucky I am to be with such a special, giving and big hearted person as you,” Nissy wrote on Instagram, sharing a collage of images with her partner. “May your birthday this year b as special as you are.”
Nassif’s shared several videos to social media of his birthday party that was held at Leichardt’s Odyssey bar Restaurant.
Last year, the Parramatta businessman took over Sydney nightclub Marquee at The Star for his 50th birthday.
There, he was surrounded by scantily clad dancers and a cabaret singer covering Shirley Bassey classic Big Spender.
Last month, The Daily Telegraph revealed Nassif was busted with cocaine while out partying at The Star for his wife’s 32nd birthday.
He pleaded guilty in the Downing Centre Local Court on October 14 to possessing a prohibited drug and was given an 18-month conditional release order and no conviction was recorded on account of his good character. The standard conditions for such an order were applied to him, that he not commit any offence and he attend court if ordered to do so.
Nassif has been a regular in the high roller rooms at The Star for several years.
The Nassifs are parents to three young children and live in a mansion in Chiswick overlooking the harbour in Sydney’s inner west.
Throughout 2019, headlines on the couple bounced between their flamboyant lifestyle and civil court cases involving Nassif or his development firm, Toplace.
He shot to national attention when he gave his wife a $480,000 yellow Lamborghini in a video which went viral where he exclaimed: “Congratulations Mrs Nassif. You like?”.
Nassif’s Instagram account vanished following the viral fallout from the Lamborghini post, which saw the couple subsequently mocked in spoof videos featuring used yellow items including a rubber duck, banana, a wheelie bin, a tine of tuna and a yellow bicycle.
He has since launched a new account under the name Jonny Nass but has just one image of his children on the profile.
