Kate Szepanowski busted with more than $2500 and ‘white powder’ believed to be cocaine

Kate Szepanowski, 24, who was busted with more than $2500 of cash and remnants of white powder which police believed was cocaine in a plastic freezer bag, is no stranger to the spotlight.

An Instagram influencer convicted last week over a wad of cash in her handbag she claimed was from her “sugar daddy”, is no stranger to the spotlight, Confidential can reveal.

Only five years ago Kate Szepanowski, 24, was accused of assaulting another school-leaver with a ceramic coffee mug on the Gold Coast before charges were eventually dropped.

At the time, Szepanowski said she acted in self-defence in the alleged brawl which attracted national media attention.

Her victim, Izzy Ruger, was left horrifically bloodied and eventually went on TV to explain what happened to which Szepanowski told media: “She wanted a bit of fame so I had to suffer unfortunately.”

Ironically, Szepanowski, who flaunts her luxurious life on social media, appeared on ABC’s Four Corners last year in a story about the cosmetic surgery industry.

She said she regularly got free treatments in exchange for endorsements on social media to her 45,000 followers.

Only months later she was back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons when she was stopped after police noticed her Mazda driving slowly at Bondi Junction.

According to a police statement, officers thought the driver may have been under the influence and pulled over the vehicle.

“Police could see that the accused was fiddling around near the centre console and became suspicious she was attempting to conceal something,” the statement said.

She appeared anxious when asked to provide identification, before officers noticed a large bundle of cash and a clear resealable bag. Two phones were also spotted in their search — one under the seat.

She flaunts her luxurious life on social media, revealing she often gets free treatments in exchange for endorsements.

Police allege the Brisbane woman told them a number of stories before she admitted that she had been with her “sugar daddy”.

More than $2500 of cash was seized, along with remnants of white powder which they believed was cocaine in a plastic freezer bag, and two Xanax tablets but no prescription.

She was due to face court but was a no show, and was convicted of possessing a prohibited drug for the Xanax, and for possessing unlawfully obtained goods.

She was fined a combined $350.
