Home and Away stars James Stewart and Sarah Roberts are a true Everest love story.
The loved-up pair met at the first ever Everest race day at Royal Randwick three years ago and the rest is history.
The two were married in July and are now talking about starting a family.
“Would we call it a date? I don’t know. It was a drink that led to a wedding,” Stewart told The Daily Telegraph. “Sarah was deejaying and when she finished, we had a champagne and I didn’t have eyes for anyone else.”
The newlyweds are this year’s ambassadors for the Everest Carnival.
They will attend a number of race days with Roberts deejaying on Saturday at the Colgate Optic White Stakes Day.
The Everest will be held on October 19.
“One hundred per cent we want to start a family together,” Roberts said.
“There are so many factors that come along with that.”
The Everest has grown to be one of the most recognised horse meets in the world. It is now the globe’s richest race with a prize pool of $14 million.
Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager of Commercial Corina Black said: “We’re thrilled to have Sarah Roberts and James Stewart spearhead our stable of talented ambassadors for this year’s Everest Carnival, which continues to grow from strength to strength.”
