Hans to join Australia’s Got Talent judges
The Adelaide/German superstar has graced America’s Got Talent — and now he’s turning the tables on the Australian edition.
Adelaide’s own ‘international superstar’, Hans, is turning the tables.
A year after he appeared on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in the US, the cabaret performer is headed back to the franchise — this time as a guest judge on Australia’s Got Talent.
“When they first asked me, I was a little surprised, but I have a feeling that being judgemental is something that is actually going to come quite naturally to me,” he said.
Hans (AKA the Sunday Mail’s gossip writer Matt Gilbertson) will be one of five guest judges who will appear alongside Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack, Nicole Scherzinger and Manu Feildel each week as Australia’s Got Talent heads into the semi-finals.
In an Australian first, each week, the guest has the ability to award a Golden Buzzer to their favourite act, guaranteeing them a place in the Grand Final.
“I’m not sure what sort of an act I am looking for for my Golden Buzzer, but I’m just hoping to see someone who really deserves a break and is doing something a little different,” Hans said.
Eventually, ten finalists will compete for the grand finale prize of $100,000.
Things haven’t slowed down since Hans’ reality TV adventure last year.
He’s just announced a live show in the US in September and will later head on a national tour which will also hit regional SA.
