Former Crow Hugh Greenwood has celebrated his move to the Gold Coast Suns by announcing he and longtime partner Kjiersten Straub are expecting their first child.
Greenwood, who played 51 games for the Crows, posted a cute photo of the couple holding up a small Suns guernsey.
“Baby Greenwood Coming To A Beach Near You In February,” he captioned the photo on Instagram.
Old teammates including Taylor Walker, Eddie Betts, Charlie Cameron and Josh Jenkins were quick to congratulate the couple.
A former basketballer, Greenwood, 27, spent the past three seasons at Adelaide, but was traded to the Gold Coast for two future draft picks this week, with the lure of a longer contract enticing him to Queensland.
Greenwood’s just one of several current and former Crows stars who have announced they’re starting a family or welcomed new arrivals since the end of the AFL season.
Earlier this week, departing Crow Richard Douglas and wife Alessandra revealed they’re expecting their first child in April.
Former captain Walker and wife Ellie will welcome their first baby next month, while Bryce Gibbs, Kyle Hartigan, Rory Sloane and Daniel Talia have all celebrated new additions to their families in recent weeks.
