Fashion designer Camilla Franks is hopeful of becoming a mother again after her battle with breast cancer.
The 43-year-old is bolstered by news she won’t have to remove her ovaries as previously thought, following her treatment for the illness.
“Since posting the news about my ovaries, my body has miraculously taken itself out of menopause and my oestrogen levels are back in full swing,” Franks told The Saturday Telegraph.
“My ovaries are again juicy and ripe. So, who knows, nothing in life is certain. Fingers crossed that a miracle happens and I’m off to the fertility specialist soon.”
Franks and artist partner JP Jones are already parents to one-year-old daughter, Luna.
The designer was diagnosed with breast cancer three months after giving birth to Luna and has been open about her journey in the hope of helping other women going through the same thing.
“Last year was filled with so much light giving birth to Luna and then the darkness,” she said in May.
“I danced with the devil and I am coming out the other end. I am still fatigued but I can feel my body regenerating. I needed to ninja up and I knew I had to keep my mind and focus powerful and strong to suck the marrow out of that world of cancer.”
Workwise it has been a huge year for Franks, who has celebrated the 15th anniversary of her fashion label with a collection titled Mother inspired by Australia.
This week she released the new Reef component of the collection, inspired by her travels to the Great Barrier Reef.
